Research Purpose and Methodology
The purpose of the study was to assess the impact of Google for Education tools on the educational process within the framework of the pilot project at Secondary School No. 35 in Bishkek during the 2024/25 academic year.
The research was based on monitoring the integration and adaptation of digital tools and devices (Chromebooks and laptops) by teachers and students in classroom practice.
The methodology included:
-
surveys, interviews, and focus groups with project participants;
-
classroom observations of digital tool usage;
-
analysis of teachers’ and students’ readiness to adopt innovations, and changes in engagement and motivation levels.
Pilot Participants
The pilot project involved 30 teachers, of whom 22–25 actively used Google tools in their teaching. A total of 233 students from grades 7–11 participated, receiving training and access to digital devices. The school was provided with the necessary infrastructure, including internet connectivity, equipment, and technical support.
Key Findings
The study results demonstrated:
-
significant improvement in digital literacy among all participants;
-
high levels of acceptance and integration of innovative technologies;
-
increased student engagement and improved learning outcomes in some groups;
-
overcoming psychological and technological barriers;
-
growth in confidence and motivation to further use Google tools.
At the same time, several key challenges were identified:
-
limited internet speed;
-
insufficient initial teacher training;
-
ongoing need for technical support.
For successful scaling of the project, a systemic approach is required — ensuring adequate infrastructure, pre-training for teachers, involvement of school administrations in promoting digitalization, and the creation of a supportive environment.
